Kiesewetter Auction Service is a family owned auction service starting 30 years ago as a part time auction service. It became a full time auction service in 1994 following Carrie and Merlin’s retirement in teaching and administration with a combined 73 years devoted to the field of education. While in the educational field, Carrie and Merlin farmed and operated a 300 head cow/calf herd. Merlin also served as mayor and was elected 8 years as township trustee. Following retirement from public schools, Merlin was principal for 10 years of a school for at-risk students. Many of those students enjoyed working part-time at auctions and were enjoyed and commended by auction goers. Assisting Oglesby Auctioneers during the past six winter in Florida, Carrie and Merlin helped to set up an auction that won the National Auctioneers Association “Auction of the Year” award for the Florida auction firm. Carrie and Merlin handle your auction needs on their own and take great “pride” in setting up clean and attractive auction displays. Carrie and Merlin have donated their services to a variety of benefit auctions. The State of Illinois award for the conduction of numerous Peoria Area Crime Stoppers Auctions was a much cherished award.
The 25,000 square foot auction facility with 300-400 seating capacity and a separate 5000 square foot furniture sales area is located just off I-474, three miles from Greater Peoria Airport, between East Peoria and Pekin, Illinois. Auction goers enjoy the country atmosphere, the breeze under the beautiful shade trees, the scenic view of the lake and log cabin, acres of parking, and delicious concessions.
