Chris Barker was suddenly called home to be with the Lord on September 19, 2008. His memory continues to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Chris was the devoted husband of Beth Barker, the very proud father of Danny and Jason Barker, and the loving son of Charles and Carolyn Barker. Chris was a farmer in the Shelby County area and an auctioneer with the Gordon Price Auction Service. Chris was an outstanding member of the community. This is evident in the number of friends and family members who continue to generously donate to the Chris Barker Memorial Scholarship Fund. This scholarship was created in honor of Chris's memory by his good friends and neighbors, Mert and Sue Hauck. It is overseen by the Shelby County Farm Bureau Foundation. The objective of the Chris Barker Memorial Scholarship is to provide funding to outstanding students to pursue a degree in an ag related field.
